 the idea

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, those working the front lines endured some of the most chaotic working conditions. Those who previously enjoyed their jobs we’re now seriously contemplating their career choices. Tasjae Robinson, Armour’s Founder, wanted to “Bring back meaning and purpose to those who serve humanity”. She wanted to create a scrub line that was truly faith-based. Broadening the line for those of multiple professions and not just nurses.

 the process

DZN was tasked with bringing Tasjae’s faith-based scrub line idea to life. DZN was responsible for a custom designed logo, all branding and marketing, product design, social media design, web design, and photography. From beginning to end DZN and Tasjae worked together to ensure that every detail was accounted for.

brand strategy

The brands tagline “Protect Your Purpose” was the basis of the Brand’s strategy. Those 3 words simplified the Brand’s goal. Those on the front lines needed to find their purpose again and protect themselves from not only the illness that was spreading but from the negativity that was devastating us all in different ways.

brand identity

DZN wanted to keep the brand design simple and personable. The logo, base color palette, and imagery helped create the brands personality.

logo design

The Armour logo was designed completely from scratch. The goal was to portray a shield to show “protection”. The variations of the logo (Text & Submark etc.) are used in different scenarios.

typography

The fonts Cerulean Nights and Poppins were used throughout the brand and at various weights. Cerulean nights has been mainly used for the logo, and Poppins for all other text used on the site, and elsewhere.

color palette

Black and white were chosen as the main colors with khaki as an accent color. The colors of the scrubs sold are also used to help brand social media and the website.

social marketing

The initial launch of the site was advertised on Instagram as well as the introduction to the scrubs and additional products.

product design

The Armour scrub design was created by the owner Tasjae Robinson. All other supporting products such as sweatshirts, mugs, masks, etc. were designed by DZN.

web design + development

The website was designed to show the scrubs in the best light possible. It also has a blog-style devotional, the complete story about how Armour came about, and dynamic photos that were taken at the Armour brand photo shoot. The site features WooCommerce, PayPal, Klarna and a WordPress integration.

I started Armour with little to no guidance. All I had was a name and an idea and Diamant Dezign helped me turn that idea into a brand. She helped me create fresh new concepts that aligned with my vision for Armour. We worked closely together to analyze demographic information, set goals that were met in a timely manner, and finalize a monthly content calendar. Her work produces quality content that is simple, yet attractive, and shows the clear purpose behind my brand. By adding her expertise to my vision, we were able to create a beautiful marketing plan that attracts my customer base. Also, as my Social Media manager, she continues to promote consistent content across my business platforms to help boost customer engagement and sales.
