Honeytones Inc. is a cosmetic and beauty company that was created to combat unwanted skin and hair conditions with all natural, organic, homemade products. With 100% natural and hypoallergenic products, they are perfect for every skin tone.

 the idea

The idea of HoneyTones was created by Tahisha Golson and cousin Parminder Beals. They hand make all products to be natural, vegan, and acceptable for all skin tones. The plan was to enhance this concept and take it to the next level.

 the process

DZN’s job was to create a new logo, a new label design for each product, build the website, and create social media graphics. The process started with the new logo and color palette options as these would set the tome for the brand moving forward.

brand strategy

The strategy was simple … Vegan products for all skin tones with an emphasis on ‘all skin tones’. People of color sometimes struggle to find products that are healthy, affordable, and work with melanated skin tones.

brand identity

The HoneyTones brand is simple yet calming. The logo, color palette, and imagery helped create the brands personality.

logo design

We wanted to best accessorize the hand-made products with a golden, handwritten-style logo. This made the brand look and feel luxurious without much effort.

typography

The fonts ‘Brittany Signature’ and ‘Monstserrat’ were used on all digital and print materials.

color palette

Inspired by skin of color, we chose colors that compliented each other and represented products that are mostly combined with honey.

social marketing

Instagram was previously the only form of contact for the company and had already built a small community. Our goal was to enhance the already informative posts from the owner, Tahisha Golson.

product design

The products were designed for jars, pump bottles, squeeze bottles, and spray bottles. The colors used were based on a color palette for that particular item. Gold tops were used to add a luxurious feel to the design.

web design + development

The website was designed highlight the importance of the color palette as it represented the different skin tones. Below is only a recreation of the site that was created as the site is no longer active. The WordPress site featured a WooCommerce and PayPal integration.
