 the idea

In an industry filled with questionable and hard-to-pronounce ingredients, RawCosmo believes that beauty is a part of the mind, body, and soul.  The focus on astrology, something positive that everyone can relate to, was a challenge that DZN couldn’t back down from.

 the process

DZN was brought in to redesign and bring to life a new vision for the brand’s identity. DZN was responsible for all branding and product labels. RawCosmo’s founder came to us with a brand that seemed to have done well in the past but needed a new vision as it now would look like any other brand on the skincare shelf. Our team tweaked the previously designed logo, asked tons of questions, lead a plethora of research sessions, and customized every aspect of the new website.

Because RawCosmo already had a social following and customers from 2016-2017. DZN was tasked with ensuring that the new strategy was still appealing to the previous customers and caught the eye of new ones. Simplicity and minimalism was the goal and the focus for this design. The astrology aspect was tied in as small details throughout the design.

brand identity

The identity of the brand previously followed the natural trend of 2016  with greens, browns, and tans. The new identity has shifted to make room for the new “cosmo” aspect of the brand. This meant lighter colors, and a bolder but minimal stance.

logo design

The minimally designed logo identifies the brand and its purpose. The bold and light fonts give contrast between the two words and highlights the word “cosmo” from Cosmos meaning Universe. The submark design is a recreation of RawCosmo’s old logo with an overlapping ‘R’ and ‘C’. 

typography

The fonts Lemon Milk and Catamaran were used on all digital and print materials. The crisp lines of the Lemon Milk font was exactly what we needed to ensure the logo was simple and modern. Using a mix of the bold and light versions helped the two words stand out.

color palette

A neon indigo and a very soft pink were the colors chosen to continue the simple modern design. Soft pinks were mainly used for background displays of products and more.

social marketing

Instagram was a big deal since it would be the main form of contact for the old and new customers to interact with the brand. The posts needed to capture the clean and real aspects of a woman’s body and the quirky saying that were associated with the products RawCosmo stands by.  

package design

RawCosmo has 3 different packaging styles. In order to stand out from other minimal body care packaging, we created a sophisticated and minimal, yet cute package to subtlety turn heads.

web design + development

The website was specifically designed to be modern and minimal. Showcasing 5 products, we focused on featuring them as clearly and detailed as possible. The site features digitally rendered product photos, and a Klarna integration.

” Diamant Dezign (DZN) has been a dream of an agency to work with. When the time came to revamp my all natural skincare line, I honestly could not trust anyone else to get the job done. Moving from a warm, nature centered theme to a more modern, cosmic approach and completely deconstructing the brand’s identity while expanding product offerings would prove to have its challenges; however, I trusted that DZN could quickly overcome them.

There were a ton of elements floating around in my head and it felt impossible to stack rank which were must haves.
